Expert Care for a Healthier, More Confident Smile

A smile makeover at Denmark Hill Smiles isn't one treatment it's a carefully planned combination of several, tailored entirely around your goals, your features, and how the finished result should feel. Whitening, bonding, veneers, alignment and hygiene each play a role; the art is in deciding which ones, in what sequence, and to what extent.

Every makeover begins with a detailed smile design session photographs, measurements, mock-ups and a clear conversation about the look you're after before any treatment is started.

What is a Smile Makeover?

A smile makeover is a bespoke combination of cosmetic dental treatments, planned together to transform multiple aspects of your smile at once colour, shape, alignment, length and balance. Rather than treating each issue in isolation, we design the whole result first, then sequence the individual treatments to deliver it. Most makeovers involve some combination of whitening, composite bonding, porcelain veneers, alignment and professional hygiene.

Your Smile Makeover Journey

A smile makeover at Denmark Hill Smiles is a relationship, not a transaction. Every case begins with a detailed conversation about what you'd like to change, what to keep, and how dramatic or subtle the final result should be. Photographs, smile measurements, digital mock-ups and sometimes a wax-up of your projected smile help us plan in detail before any treatment is started. You'll see exactly what the finished smile will look like, agree on it together, and commit to the plan with full confidence.

What follows is a carefully sequenced series of treatments typically beginning with hygiene, then whitening, then any required alignment, with bonding or veneers usually placed last to refine the final shape. Most makeovers take between four and twelve weeks from start to finish, depending on what's involved. Throughout, you'll work with the same lead clinician most commonly Dr Jigna Joshi who'll oversee every detail from initial design through to final reveal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will composite bonding look obviously fake? arrow_forward_ios
Not when it's done properly. The difference between an exceptional result and an obvious one comes down entirely to craftsmanship — the shade match, the surface texture, the polish, and how the composite is shaped to mimic the natural lustre of enamel. At Denmark Hill Smiles, every case is planned with photographs and digital mock-ups before any composite is placed, so the result blends seamlessly with your existing teeth.
How long does composite bonding actually last? arrow_forward_ios
Five to seven years on average, sometimes longer with careful care. The lifespan depends on how much composite has been placed, how you look after it, and your daily habits — smokers, heavy red wine drinkers and people who grind their teeth tend to see shorter lifespans. Small chips or staining can usually be touched up in a single visit, rather than redoing the whole treatment.
Will it stain from coffee, red wine or smoking? arrow_forward_ios
Composite is more stain-prone than porcelain, so heavy daily exposure to strong-staining drinks and tobacco will gradually discolour it. Regular hygiene visits and occasional polishing usually keep it looking its best, and minor staining can be refreshed without replacing the bonding entirely. If staining habits are part of your daily life, we'll talk you through whether porcelain veneers might suit you better.
Can composite bonding be removed if I change my mind? arrow_forward_ios
Yes — and this is one of the biggest reasons we love it. Because there's no drilling or preparation of your natural tooth, composite bonding can be carefully removed at any time, returning your tooth to its original state. It's one of the most reversible cosmetic treatments in modern dentistry, which makes it a considered first step for patients who want to refine their smile without making a permanent commitment.
How is composite bonding different from veneers? arrow_forward_ios
Veneers are thin porcelain shells bonded to a small amount of prepared tooth surface — longer-lasting and more stain-resistant, but not reversible. Composite bonding is sculpted directly onto your existing tooth, with no preparation or drilling — quicker, more affordable, and reversible, but with a shorter lifespan. We often recommend bonding as the right first step, with veneers as an option later if you want a more permanent finish.
